Southern Arizona Practical Shooters Association hosts the annual Glock Sport Shooting Foundation (GSSF) Duel in the Desert at Tucson Rifle Club (TRC). This flagship event draws Glock enthusiasts from across Arizona for a weekend of competition, safety, and community.
Registration
Registration is handled in person at the event. Check in with the SAPS team when you arrive at Tucson Rifle Club (TRC) to sign up and pay any applicable range fees.
Participants are encouraged to arrive early on match day to allow time for setup and a safety briefing.
About the Event
Duel in the Desert XIX features multiple stages for Glock shooters of every skill level. Bring your Glock pistol, ammo, and safety gear. New shooters are always welcome. Range officers and SAPS volunteers are available to help guide participants throughout the match.

About the Duel in the Desert Tucson
- Open to the public – you don’t have to compete to participate (enjoy watching the competitors and visit our community-supporting vendors)
- Multiple divisions and classifications (from amateur-level to master-level categories)
- Extremely beginner friendly and welcoming
- Random multiple drawings for free Glocks for all competitors

Range Officer supervised warm up and practice shooting bay available for all competitors
- Random multiple drawings for free Glocks for all GSSF volunteers (contact us if you would like to help us with this event)
- Free Glock “swag” for all GSSF volunteers (multiple volunteer sessions and dates: Oct 31st, November 1st and 2nd from 7:30am – 4:30pm)
- Free Glock safety inspections and repairs (by a Glock Staff Senior Armorer)
- Free beginner firearms shooting, marksmanship, and safety lessons (teaching firearms are provided by instructors at no charge)
- Free loaner Glocks for competitors to use if desired
- Food vendors, discount ammo, and exhibitor sales
- Everyone invited (no entry fee) – GSSF Mixer Party at Prema Bar (dinner and snack menu available), Casino del Sol, Nov 1st, Sat night @ 6:00PM – 8:00PM
- Free raffled items for GSSF Mixer party attendees (must be present to win)!
About Glock Sport Shooting Foundation
The GLOCK Sport Shooting Foundation (GSSF) is a safe, fun, FAMILY-ORIENTED organization devoted to the responsible use of GLOCK firearms and encouraging participation in shooting sports. Competitions across the United States provide opportunities for shooters of all skill levels and experience to compete together in simple, but challenging courses of fire.
